To use the Voltorb Flip Helper, simply enter the numbers of points and bombs for each row and column, and fill in any known squares. Then hit the Run button. Each square will be colored according to the expected value of clicking on that square. Blue is a higher expected value, and red is a lower expected value. For those of you who are not mathematically inclined, this means blue good, red bad. Squares that are guarenteed to contain only a bomb or 1 will be colored bright red, and squares that are guarenteed to not contain a bomb are colored bright blue.
Pressing reset will clear the entire board. You can select either Max Expected, Hybrid, or Min Risk at the bottom of the helper. If Max Expected is selected, the square with the highest expected value will be given a green border after the Run button is hit. If Min Risk is selected, the square with the lowest risk will be given a green border after the Run button is hit. If Hybrid is selected, the squares with the highest ratio of rewards to bombs will be given a green border after the Run button is hit. The Voltorb Flip Helper is coded in Javascript, and runs on your computer. This means it might go faster or slower depending on your CPU, memory, current workload, and so on. |
